If you are a user of Facebook or Twitter you have no doubt seen the creative ways charities are leveraging social networking to help raise funds.  With a tight economy, effective fund raising is now more important than ever.

Facebook is home to many, many charities, though groups and, even more creatively through games, such as 'Lil Green Patch.  I have been the recipient of several plants from friends on Facebook and, at first, I started to decline.  But when I realized there was really something to it and a company was making charitiable contributions based on the game, I decided to participate.  Learn more about how charities are using social media in this informative article.
